Le Tourneau Earth Moving Company bulldozed Dick's Hill near Camp Toccoa to create an aircraft landing strip. Colonel Sink acquired a C-47 Dakota aircraft to qualify the regiment's officers ahead of the other troops. Winters, along with many officers from the regiment, completed the required five parachute jumps and earned their coveted Jump Wings. Shortly after the C-47 crashed, Sink's initiative ended. The rest of the regiment would move to Fort Benning to complete their parachute jumps. Celebrate those Currahee paratroops who earned their wings with this paratrooper Tee.
