A Toccoa man from Joliet, Illinois, Frank Perconte, one of several Italian-American members of Easy Company, exclaimed to Bill Guarnere, "It's a sin to call this spaghetti," speaking of a meal being served in the mess hall that day during their training at Camp Toccoa.
